The Problem With Forever Book Tour

9:57 AM Vi Win Win 0 Comments

Jen is going on tour for the release of The Problem With Forever and I'm all kinds of excited. I can't wait for everyone to read this book!

Here's what Jen has to say about the book:

TPWF touches on some serious issues and struggles that the main and secondary characters face. One of the things I wanted to show in TPWF, like with most of my new adult contemporary novels, is that you can face struggles and be dealing with some hardcore issues, but there is also happiness, even in times when it feels like it would be impossible. That everyone, no matter their background, what has happened to them or how they were treated, will find someone who loves them like they deserve.
Mouse and Rider’s journey to becoming ‘real’ isn’t an easy journey, but one I’m very proud of. My friend Tiffany King claims that TPWF is one of my horcruxes, and I think she might be right about that.

Here's the list of where she'll be:

5/17

Is she coming to a store near you?

Good Choice Reading is graciously hosting another virtual signing event for Jen's upcoming release, The Problem With Forever.

Jen will be going on tour for this book release and one of the stops will be in Bensalem, PA (where I'll totally be there to support and fangirl, of course).  Damaris will be gathering pre-orders and getting them signed and shipped for all of you who can't attend. She's awesome at that!

Pre-order your hardcover copy now and get excited! It's one heck of an amazing book.

Recent news has just been released for ApollyCon 2017!

Next year it will take place in sunny Orlando, FL at the Doubletree Hotel and it will take place over the course of TWO days, March 24th & 25th!

How freaking awesome is that?!

ApollyCon is being run a little differently from now on, so be sure to follow along on all their social media accounts: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.

Sign up for their newsletter to get the latest news and updates as well!

Also, if you want to sign up to be a featured blogger, do so here.

I don't know if I'll be able to make it next year just yet, but here's hoping!

Who else is excited?

Book Review: The Power by Jennifer L. Armentrout

1:16 PM Vi Win Win 0 Comments

With any great change, there is always strife, and the Covenant University has become the frontline between pure-bloods who want the Breed Order reinstated and the half-bloods who want the right to control their own destinies.
Fate has other plans.

The violence is escalating and war between the races seems inevitable, and it couldn’t come at a worse time. Hyperion may be out of commission, but Josie and Seth know they have only earned a reprieve. Seth must get Josie fully prepared, which means controlling her newfound abilities, and they need to find the other demigods before the Titans do.
But the gods are sensing a greater threat.

Only one thing is more dangerous than a bunch of starved Titans, and that’s an out-of-control Apollyon. The aether in Josie is drawing Seth in deeper, and when lust mixes with love and gives way to power, he knows being close to her is not only dangerous to her, but to everyone around them, but letting her go requires a level of selflessness that just isn’t Seth’s style.

The paths taken in the past are becoming the roads of the future.

Just as chaos breaks out, familiar faces from the past return, complicating the already strained bond between Josie and Seth, and when the danger from the Titans erupts with devastating consequences, the dark allure of power calls to Seth again, but this time Josie might not be able to pull him back.

And when the struggle between power and love becomes the deadliest battleground, there may be no salvation.

Goodreads | Amazon

When Jen does a spin-off series, she does it well. The Power took what The Return had and made it even better. It’s in this book that you see just how much Seth has grown and changed. He still has those “he’s a jerk” moments, but there’s a lot of realness and sincerity to him that makes you want to just hug the guy (and maybe do a bit more) for hours on end. You also get a better idea of what the characters are up against and how dire it all is. Josie also shines in this book and I liked seeing her handle everything, absorb it all in, and to see how she handles Seth. The chemistry is also there, but there’s also a sense of understanding and appreciation that I really loved about them as a couple.

There’s also a good amount of sexy times, which was made into something even more entertaining with someone like Seth at the helm of said sexy times. Apollo does what he does best, which is always fun to see, and he brought along another new, yet well-known, character that added even more humor and LOL moments, making it even more fun to read.

I will say that there’s a bit of a lull in terms of action until well after 100 pages into the book, at least, there was for me (though not as much as in the first book). There wasn’t nearly enough action as I was hoping for, but luckily the characters, especially Seth, kept things going so I didn’t mind it much. Maybe I’m just being extra picky since it takes a lot to hold my attention nowadays. When the epic battle scene did occur, however, it was just plain awesome!

Of course, I have to mention the appearance of my power couple, my OTP to top all other OTPs – Alex and Aiden. Yes, it was the moment I’ve been waiting for since the bittersweet ending of Sentinel. While I’ll never get enough of them and I’ll always beg for more, the couple get a good amount of screen (or page) time without it seeming like the story is about them. Alex, in particular. I’ve always loved the special relationship she and Seth have, Apollyon and romance aspects aside. It’s always fun seeing them go at each other and their banter is so damn entertaining!

I am definitely excited to see how it all ends in the third book, which I stealthily figured out will be called The Struggle. Judging by the title alone, I can tell there will be plenty of drama and action.
