Stay With Me Blog Tour: Review
Synopsis: At 21, Calla hasn’t done a lot of things. She’s never been kissed, never seen the ocean, never gone to an amusement park. But growing up, she witnessed some things no child ever should. She still carries the physical and emotional scars of living with a strung-out mother, Mona—secrets she keeps from everyone, including her close circle of college friends.
But the safe cocoon Calla has carefully built is shattered when she discovers her mom has stolen her college money and run up a huge credit card debt in her name. Now, Calla has to go back to the small town she thought she'd left behind and clean up her mom’s mess again. Of course, when she arrives at her mother’s bar, Mona is nowhere to be found. Instead, six feet of hotness named Jackson James is pouring drinks and keeping the place humming.
Sexy and intense, Jax is in Calla’s business from the moment they meet, giving her a job and helping her search for Mona. And the way he looks at her makes it clear he wants to get horizontal . . . and maybe something more. Before Calla can let him get close, though, she’s got to deal with the pain of the past—and some very bad guys out to mess her up if she doesn’t give them her mom.

My Review
It’s no secret that I’m a total JLA addict and like always, Jen has yet to disappoint me. Stay With Me is an excellent installment to the Wait for You series and to her line up of books in general. Jen has, yet again, created a guy I wish were real. She’s also wows readers with a meaningful and genuine romance and along with memorable and entertaining characters. I mean, what’s not to like when a book starts off teasing us with the “Hot Guy Brigade”? I love Jen’s ability to tackles tough and dramatic issues without it coming off as overbearing or played out. She always offers a refreshing spin to whatever plot she decides to write about and she does it with flare!
Can I also point out how pretty that cover is?! It’s definitely my favorite of the series so far.
Anyways, in Stay With Me, we focus on Calla, Teresa’s friend, who is forced to come to terms with her past and her family. In doing so, she meets Jax and from there a relationship and romance brews that you can’t help but fall for.
Calla is a pretty decent female lead. I liked how focused she was on school and her future. You could see her passion for her career, so that was definitely a strong point for her. She definitely has some self-esteem issues and she’s not a tough girl by any means, but she’s had quite a past and dealt with a lot of crazy stuff, which makes her pretty tough for being able to handle all that and still have a level head in the end. Her character development was steady throughout the book and Jen kept me interested in her story, that’s for sure.
Jax was great! He starts off like any brooding, sexy guy you can’t resist, but then shows such a sweet, caring, and passionate side as the story progresses, too. Major swoon points to this guy, especially with that ending! I really liked how protective and affectionate he was with Calla without being overbearing or annoying. There is a thin line, my friends! Their chemistry was great and their relationship progression was pretty spot on.
As with all of Jen’s books, the romance was spectacular. The suspense and drama was outstanding. And the characters were irresistible. I loved it! JLA fans will love this book, as well as romance readers alike. This lady can do no wrong!
