Vote for JLA & Onyx in the Goodreads Choice Awards

9:00 AM Vi Win Win 0 Comments

Jen has been nominated for Best Goodreads Author and her book, Onyx, has been nominated for Best YA Fantasy & Science Fiction.

Congrats, Jen! You definitely deserve the recognition!

Be sure to get your votes in for the first round of nominations, Oct. 30th - Nov. 10th.

Want some incentive?! Well, Jen's got some:

"if I make it into the finals for Best Author and Best YA Science Fiction and Fantasy, I will allow the readers to pick what short story they want me to write. It could be something from the Lux Series, Covenant, Cursed, or one of my adult novels.Or I can write something brand spanking new."

How awesome is that?! The hardest part will be to choose WHAT we want Jen to write about! LOL!

What are you waiting for?! Go. Vote. Now!

Recap of the Cursed, TtP, & Onyx Live Chat with JLA

10:00 AM Vi Win Win 1 Comments

Hey guys,

Since I know a lot of you weren't able to make the chat the other night, I got a few requests to do a recap of what Jen talked about.

All I can do is tell you her answers to the submitted questions since those were written down. All the "free range" questions (random) at the end of the chat were kind of a blur, so sorry about that.

Cursed:

1. Any plans on a Cursed sequel? I felt that the ending kinda called for one.

talks for a sequel or a companion novel, nothing definite yet

2. If they made Cursed in a movie, who would YOU chose to play Hayden and Ember? Or would you chose new faces? :)

totally bad at doing these kinds of things, no idea

3. Did you come up with Ember's power first or the idea of people with super powers?

inspiration from Pet Cemetery about animals coming back to life, Ember's sister w/that power, story growing from there

4. Cursed is your 1st HC, is there any chance the Covenant series will come out in HC too?

there are talks about making a box set of the Covenant series, but nothing on HCs yet

5. What kind of super power would you want?

The ability to read minds, so you'd know what people really think, since a lot of people tend to say one thing, but mean/think another

Tempting the Player:

1. Tempting the Player is about Chad's story, but will there be enough of Chase and Madison as well?

yes there is plenty of Chase & Madison in TtP

2. What made you decide to continue the story with the Gamble brothers? And which brother is your favorite to write about?

liked writing about them, the brothers are interesting, and people (publishers) wanted more; Chandler is the fav

3. How did you come up with the idea for the Tempting series? It's a little different then what is currently out.

don't remember how

4. Anything about Chandler? Release date?

Chandler's love interest is a character in Tempting the Player; tentatively scheduled for Spring 2013

5. Thoughts on new covers?

love them, so sexy

Onyx:

1. Will you ever do a Daemon POV of when he first met Kat?

there is one out there, either in the new PB version, or the ebook version (unsure)

2. Will Dawson ever be like he used to, or has the torturous years with the DoD changed him forever?

he definitely has some problems and a bit of adjusting to do, but it won't be that bad

3. In Onyx, what was in the note daemon intercepted and re wrote on between Katy and Clarissa?

still not allowed to say

4. Did you always expect Daemon to stop right before they have sex?

the Lux series was originally supposed to be 3 books, and in that thought, D&K were supposed to have sex in Onyx, but since the series grew to 5 books, this had to get edited out. no word on if/when they will actually have sex though

5. What are your favorite traits from your characters in the Lux series?

Their stubbornness and loyalty

6. Who you would have play Katy and Daemon and Dee if they made it into a movie? Or would you cast new faces?

no idea, terrible at these things, but always thought Alex Pettyfer would be a great Seth in the Covenant series

General Questions:

1. If you could do a cross-over with characters from another series, who would they be?

Tod from Soul Screamers by Rachel Vincent

2. What book release have you been most excited about this year?

Opal

3. What are you working on now?

Finishing up Origin (Lux #4)

Hope you guys like the recap and be sure to stay tuned for news on Jen's next Live Author Chat for Deity & Opal! Oh, and I promise to have a better transcript for that chat!

Deity Island Gets a Face Lift!

12:00 AM Vi Win Win 28 Comments

Sooooo.......

How do you like it?!?!

Isn't it GORGEOUS?!

I just LOVE the header, showing off all the Covenant flowers/covers so far and the font is so pretty and fancy. The sidebar is beautiful too and I love those widget headers (I hope you like some of the cool header names I came up with lol)! Oh, and the new signature is so pretty!!! The colors took a bit to get just right, but I'm very happy with how things turned out. We were able to condense the menu bar and have information for Jen's books in a nifty little drop-down menu. I love it! And yes, I really did want to incorporate all of Jen's books into the look, but since all her covers are so different, it really didn't look right (wasn't cohesive). Trust me, we tried! That doesn't mean I love the Lux series any less!

All I can say is I simply adore Ishita from Designs by Fishy. She is truly talented, people! Not only is she creative, she works very quickly and efficiently. She listened to all I had to say, worked along with my needs, and was always there to help me through this process. And she was so nice about everything! It's all you can really hope for from a designer. Not to mention her prices can't be beat!

Seriously, if you're looking to get your blog designed - Get. This. Girl!

And just to celebrate this beautiful new design and the fact that I know a lot of you were a bit frustrated that you couldn't access the site while it was getting renovated, I'm doing a GIVEAWAY!

Yep, I'm so uber excited and happy about all this, I just had to share the joy and gift one lucky Half-Blood with a paperback copy of Deity!

Just fill out the Rafflecopter form below! The giveaway is valid only where The Book Depository ships, so make sure you check if they deliver to you before entering. Good luck!

Let me know what you think of the new design!!!!

ICYMI:
- I updated the Poll of the Month & the Quote of the Month, so vote & let me know what you think of the quote!
- I also added cute little social media icons for you to easily email me, subscribe via RSS, or follow me on Twitter.
- The links for Jen's latest release, Tempting the Player, is located on the sidebar.

P.S.: The JLA Chat recap will be posted later this morning!

Covers for the Gamble Brothers Series

10:07 PM Vi Win Win 0 Comments

ICYMI: Entangled changed the cover for Tempting the Best Man, the first book in the Gamble Brothers series. It is dead sexy! I love it!

It fits very well with the cover for Tempting the Player, Book 2 in the Gamble Brothers series, which is supposed to be released today in digital format, BUT Amazon & Barnes & Noble are being a bit sluggish and fans are still waiting for their chance to get a copy (which means winner of the Sept. JLARC will most likely have to wait until tomorrow - if it comes out, for me to gift them their prizes).

Opal Teaser

3:31 PM Vi Win Win 1 Comments

While we're all waiting on pins and needles for the release of Tempting the Player, Jen was nice enough to tweet a teaser from Opal for fans to enjoy:
***The bed was way too small with him in it. Seven months ago—heck, four months ago—I would’ve run laughing into the hills if someone said Daemon would be in my bed. But a lot had changed. And seven months ago, I didn’t believe in aliens. ***

I definitely wouldn't kick him outta my bed! Right?!

#JLARC September Wrap-Up

3:34 PM Vi Win Win 0 Comments

Not a bad month for Cursed and the JLARC at all. I hope you all enjoyed reading and reviewing Cursed and I know you're all dying to know the results.

Total Reviews: 17

And the winners are:
ebook of Tempting the Player Winners:
Signed Swag Winner: Tammi @ YA Book Reviews
Bookmark & Guitar Pick Winner: browneyedreader

Congrats to all the winners! Emails have been sent out and you have 48 hours to respond.

The October JLARC has already started, but I know no one can participate yet because Tempting the Player hasn't been released. Ugh, there was so much confusion with dates and all that, the post was even a bit messed up, but I decided to let it go live regardless.

Anyways, let's not think about that and remember to get your kindles/nooks ready for Tuesday!!!

WTH, Let's Add Onyx to the Chat Too!!!

9:21 PM Vi Win Win 0 Comments

ICYMI, Jen is doing a LIVE Author Chat for the JLA Reading Challenge next Wed, Oct 24th at 7:30pm EST.

I originally planned it to just be about Cursed and Tempting the Player, since we didn't do a chat last month. But then I realized, we didn't do a chat for August, too! For shame, I know.

Submit YOUR Questions for Jennifer's Next LIVE Author Chat! #JLARC

9:00 AM Vi Win Win 2 Comments

Remember those LIVE Author Chats I talked about before for the JLA Reading Challenge?!

Yep, that's happening this month!

In a week, to be exact. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 24th at 7:30pm EST, where Jennifer will be discussing ALL THINGS Cursed & Tempting the Player.

The chat will take place via Jennifer's LiveStream page and will last for about an hour or so. Everyone is welcome to join the chat, but to keep things in order, I'm going to ask everyone to ask their questions beforehand.

If you've read either book and have a question you want Jennifer to answer, submit it via the form below. You can ask as many questions as you can think of, just fill out the form for each question.

I'll make sure Jennifer answers as many as she can during the chat and will obviously mention your name when asking. We'll also have some time at the end for those who want to know more/didn't have time to submit a question. I want to make this as easy and fun as possible for everyone, so I hope this works out!

If you have any questions for me, just let me know in the comments section. Also, if there are any problems loading the form, you can leave your questions for Jen in the comments section and I'll be sure to include them as well.

JLA Reading Challenge for October #JLARC

12:00 AM Vi Win Win 7 Comments

Welcome to the THIRD MONTH of the JLA Reading Challenge!

If you have no clue what this is or would like to participate, check out the Sign-Up page where you can get all the details.

If you're already a participant, let's get this started!

This month's goal will be to read Tempting the Player (Gamble Brothers #2).

Chad Gamble, all-star pitcher for the Nationals, is one of the best players on—and off—the field. And right now, the notorious bad boy wants Bridget Rodgers. But with her lush curves and snappy comebacks, the feisty redhead is the kind of woman a man wants to settle down with…and that’s the last thing Chad needs. When the paparazzi catch them in a compromising position, Chad’s manager issues an ultimatum: clean up his act or kiss his multi-million dollar contract goodbye. To save his career, his meddling publicist says he'll have to convince everyone Bridget isn’t just his flavor of the week, but his girlfriend. Being blackmailed into a fake relationship with Chad Gamble isn’t easy, especially when the sizzling physical attraction between them is undeniable. With a month to go on their arranged pretense, it's going to take every ounce of willpower they have not to fall into bed together...or in love.

Your Tasks:

1. Start reading! You have all month to read the book and don't worry if you can't finish it on time. Have some fun!
2. You have until November 16th, to post your review or (if you reviewed a book in the past) post your thoughts about reading it again. Remember, you can post to your Blog, Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes & Noble, or Facebook.
3. Add your link to the Linky below. Each review/post for each book counts as one entry. Only entries for the Featured Book(s) of the Month will count towards this month's giveaway. I will leave it open for THREE days after this for those who can't link up in time, but only post links for that month, please.

Your Prize:

 - One winner will receive a Paperback copy of Deity
 - One winner will receive a SIGNED ARC of Deity
 - One winner will receive a pack of SIGNED bookmarks (one of each of her book covers so far, + a Daemon Invasion bookmark = eight total), Cursed stickers, & a Deity guitar pick
 - One winner will receive a SIGNED Daimon bookmark and a Half-Blood guitar pick

*Winners are chosen at RANDOM from the Linky List as long as they followed the rules/guidelines*

*REMEMBER: In order to be eligible to win prizes, you MUST add your link to the original SIGN UP linky list in addition to your link below.*

And the OBSESSION Begins!

12:00 AM Vi Win Win 0 Comments

Woohoo!

USA Today bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout's adult novel OBSESSION, which takes place in the world of the YA series THE LUX, in which a young woman discovers an alien race is behind her best friend's death, making her their next target, and must rely on a sexy, domineering stranger to protect her, who turns out to be the biggest threat of them all - an Arum, to Liz Pelletier at Entangled, for publication in spring 2013 (world) by Kevan Lyon at Marsal Lyon Literary Agency

Congrats Jen! I've been hearing bits and pieces about Obsession and I love that it's an Adult novel. I really can't wait to read this one!

Jen shares some details about Obsession:

An Arum. Yes. You read that right.
Obsession does take place in the same world that Katy and Daemon inhabit,
Obsession is more mature, definitely targeted toward the older crowd. It's an adult romance, so you know what that means.
Obsession will change what you think you know about the Luxens and Arums.
There will be some crossover with certain characters from the Lux Series.
Obsession takes place in-between Opal and the 4th Lux novel, which is called Origin (special thanks to the twitter follower who suggested that title.)
Some of you may even remember a tease I did a couple of months ago. Hunter and Serena are the lead characters in Obsession. Click HERE to see the tease and HERE
Hunter is a true alpha male and is one of my favorite characters I've ever written. He's like Daemon and Seth rolled into one. Totally no holds bars. Hunter is... well, he's Hunter.
You don't have to read the Lux Series to read Obsession
And if you enjoyed Obsidian and Daemon, well, I think you're going to enjoy Obsession.

What do you think about this news?! Are you as excited as I am for this book?!

Get Jennifer & Daemon to Come to YOUR City!

12:00 AM Vi Win Win 0 Comments

You read that right, folks!

Entangled Publishing is hosting a very EPIC contest where fans can nominate & vote for which city they want to host the Opal Release Party, which Jennifer & Daemon (aka Pepe) are very likely to attend.

Here are the details:

Create a video, take a picture, write a blog post, or whatever you can come up with to grab our attention and let us know why you feel your city should host the Daemon Invasion OPAL Release Party. On November 3rd, we’ll choose the top 5 cities and put it to a vote for all the fans to decide the final city in which we’ll host the OPAL Release Party with Jennifer L. Armentrout and… Daemon! That’s right, the model who portrays Daemon on the covers of The Lux Series, Pepe Toth, will be joining us for an exciting launch party at hopefully a bookstore near you!

How to Nominate Your City:
1. Create your best content explaining why we should come there! We want to see you get CREATIVE. Really grab our attention. Don’t just link us to your city’s website… Take a picture of fifteen Super Fans laying on the state capital’s lawn wearing Daemon Invasion T-shirts. Create “Nominate Our City” flyers and hand them out at your local B&N. Write a blog post about why you’re the biggest fan of all. Post status updates on your Facebok page as you sink into hysteria if your city isn’t picked. Take a picture of your school locker covered in The Lux Series’ book covers. Show us why you’re a Super Fan, and we should come to YOUR city first!
2. Fill out the simple form on this page. It’s only three fields. We know you can do it.
3. Tweet the nomination. Don’t forget this step! Remember, it’s not just about how crazy you get , but you’ve also got to catch our attention! The tweet must include the city you want to nominate, a link to your nomination plus the hashtag “#daemoninvasion”. Make sure your submission is as creative as possible and most importantly include why your city would be ideal for us to host the next Daemon Invasion and Release Party for OPAL. We will choose the five best submissions based on creativity and a display of interest by the fans. Have Fun!

Still have questions? Email Entangled Publishing.

Important Dates:
Oct 1 – Oct 30: Nominate Cities
