Welcome to the Deity Island stop for the Wait for You Blog Tour. Check out the full schedule at Stuck in Books. Here is my review of Wait for You.

Some things are worth waiting for…
Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.
Some things are worth experiencing…
Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.
Some things should never be kept quiet…
But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?
And some things are worth fighting for…

Note to self: Do not start a JLA book at 10 o’clock at night because you will be up until 4AM reading it and then won’t be able to sleep afterwards because the story will still be reeling in your head.

This happens every time I read a book by Jennifer Armentrout, it never fails!

Jennifer has done it yet again. She has stunned the masses with her brillant writing, creative ability to take a tried and true story and weave it in her own unique way, and develop characters that we all desperately wish were real. Wait For You is easily one of my favorite books from her and any one who loves a well-written contemporary romance will devour this bad boy in one sitting. There is seriously nothing this lady can’t attempt and master with flair.

Avery is a great female lead. It takes a lot of strength and courage to deal with what she had to in her past and still come out decent. She definitely had some demons she needed to face and learn to cope with better, but she was doing the best she could. She was actually a lot more outgoing and friendly than other characters who have dealt with similar situations are. I really liked how she took an issue that a lot of authors address in their novels, and spun it in her own unique way that honestly surprised me a little. And, seriously, I hated her parents so much! It’s unbelievable what they put this girl through. They kind of reminded me of Lorelai’s parents from The Gilmore Girls (i.e. uptight, snobbish, etc), only we all know that if that had happened to her, Lorelai’s parents wouldn’t have acted that revolting.

You might hear that Cam rivals Aiden in the league of JLA Boys, and I have to admit, he’s come in at a deadly close 2nd. Cam is perfect and all, but Aiden has an unreachable place in my heart. Regardless, Cam is truly one of those memorable characters you can’t help but fall in love with. Why does Jen keep creating these amazing men for us to swoon over? She must know it’s not good for the real men in our lives! And those eyes! I told Jen that if it were possible, I would’ve totally had a baby with a cute white guy, just so I could get those blue eyes. You know Asians aren’t know for their diverse eye colors, now! Anyways, Cam is an excellent male lead and he is so swoon-worthy. He’s gorgeous, confident (not cocky – I love that line, circa How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days), caring, passionate, and fun. The story was more of Avery’s tale with Cam being the one who gets her to change, and I didn’t mind that at all. We got a fair amount of Cam and his background, let’s face it, Jen knows how to write a guy we will all love.

What I loved most about this book, besides Cam and his swooniness, were the characters! Jacob is so freaking hilarious, I couldn’t get enough of him. Every scene he was in was delightful and he has easily become one of my favorite supporting characters. Brit was great too and I loved how much she cared for Avery. Oh, and Raphael! Easily the cutest little character ever! Jen totally made me want to get a pet turtle. Ollie and Jase added plenty of “eye candy” to the book as well. I’m seriously hoping we’ll get to know them a bit more, as I’ve heard that there will be more books from this world. Wait For You has all the makings of a swoon-worthy romance with an emotional, well-written plot. You seriously can’t go wrong with any of Jen’s books, but this one is right up there with the best of them. You’ll laugh, you’ll tear up, you’ll get angry, and then you’ll rejoice after having read such an outstanding New Adult novel that will stay with you long after you’re done with it. I’d recommend this one to the 100th degree, so make sure you grab a copy and read this one soon!
